Ava Camilo is the manager of Luther Strings. She moved to Denver in 2020 to pursue her graduate education, and now holds a Masters Degree in Music Performance from the University of Denver’s Lamont School of Music, along with a Bachelors Degree in Music Performance from Boise State University. 

A passionate teacher and performer, Ava has worked with a number of orchestras in the western U.S., including the Boise Philharmonic, Arapahoe Philharmonic, Boulder Chamber Orchestra, Trans Siberian Orchestra, and a variety of chamber music groups across the Northwest. Her prominent teachers include Matthew Zalkind, Brian Hodges, and Nancy B. Wilson. She also attributes her musical growth to time spent at the International Cello Institute and Marrowstone Music Festival.

As a private instructor Ava utilizes a variety of pedagogical techniques, primarily emphasizing the Suzuki Method of cello playing. Ava holds a certificate in Suzuki pedagogy, having trained under the tutelage of Heather Hadley at the Lamont School of Music. Outside of music, Ava enjoys yoga, reading, and exploring Colorado. Ava is a native of Boise, Idaho.
